After the harvest, carried out exclusively by hand, the grapes are pressed and fermented at controlled temperatures, with a long maceration on the skins. Subsequently, aging takes place for one year in large French oak barrels, and finally concludes with a six-month refinement in the bottle: the ingredients are simple, as is the recipe, but the result, from Villa S. Andrea's Chianti Classico, is excellent.
A versatile red, which pairs very well with meats but is also good with semi-aged cheeses, winter soups, and typical Tuscan cured meats. It's a Chianti you can never go wrong with.
Tasting Notes:
Intense ruby red in color, with purple reflections to the eye. The nose is rich in fruit, with hints of ripe plum and sour cherry followed by subtle tertiary notes of oak and wood. On the palate, it is perfectly balanced, well-structured in its tannic texture, and consistent with the nose. Good length.
Pairings:
Ideal for accompanying main meat dishes, it is excellent with mixed grills.
