A blend of Sangiovese and local red grapes, this Rosso Piceno DOC is produced only in favorable vintages, from grapes grown in the family's old vineyards. In a region where Verdicchio reigns supreme, it is always a pleasure to find nuances and variations of other varieties, especially when crafted, created, and conceived by the skillful hand of a company that represents prestige and professionalism in the Marche landscape. Fermented in steel and left to mature for at least a year in large barrels, this red is enjoyable now but will be incredibly exciting in a few years.
Tasting notes:
Dark and impenetrable ruby red, it presents aromas of violet, wisteria, cherry, and licorice on the nose, along with earthy undertones of undergrowth and aromatic notes of cardamom and black pepper. The taste is soft on the palate, characterized by a present but velvety tannic structure and a balanced acidity that enlivens the palate until the very long finish of undergrowth and spice.
Pairing:
It pairs perfectly with roasts and stewed meats, also ideal with medium-aged cheeses.
