The Lagrein Gries is a wine made from 100% Lagrein grapes grown in the alluvial soils of the Gries district in Bolzano, which has always been considered the ideal place for the cultivation of this grape variety.
Fermentation takes place slowly at controlled temperatures. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in large wooden barrels and barriques, followed by blending and the final bottling stage.
In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red color tending towards garnet. The nose reveals earthy and mineral notes that serve as a backdrop to a fruity aroma with prominent black cherry and plum jam. This Lagrein Riserva offers a delightful contrast of fruity notes, peat, and aromatic nuances on the palate.
Ideal with braised meats and long-aged cheeses. Also recommended with chamois roast and root vegetables.
