“Lodovico” from Tenuta di Biserno by Lodovico Antinori is a high-end label, dedicated to a refined audience of connoisseurs. This is a wine produced in a limited number of bottles, rare and highly sought after by collectors and fans of Bordeaux blends. It originates along the Tuscan coast, a land that has proven over time to be very suitable for the cultivation of the most important international red grape varieties, which, thanks to particularly favorable soil and climatic conditions, expresses itself with an enveloping maturity and aromatic richness. A great red to enjoy on a special evening.

The red “Lodovico” is the result of a recent project by Lodovico Antinori, who created Tenuta di Biserno in 2001. The new property is located in Bibbona, north of Bolgheri, in the first hilly hinterland of the Tuscan Coast. The know-how of a great producer, the sunny climate, always mitigated by the gentle breezes of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the suitable soils, soon led to the creation of exceptional labels. The wine originates from a single parcel, which has always stood out in the estate's panorama for a superior quality production. The Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot grapes are harvested at full ripeness and vinified separately, following the different harvest periods. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with maceration on the skins for about a month. The wine then ages for 16 months in 80% new French oak barriques.

Tasting Notes:

The “Lodovico” wine from Tenuta di Biserno by Lodovico Antinori is a great red, which combines the Tuscan tradition of a historic local brand with the international charm of noble Bordeaux grape varieties. The elegance and freshness of Cabernet Franc blend with the fruity softness of Merlot and with the spicy notes and dense tannins of Petit Verdot. The result is a deep ruby red wine with light garnet reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of small red and black berries, currants, blackberries, blueberries, ripe cherries, spicy hints, medicinal herbs, and balsamic plants. Intense and structured, it has a significant tannic texture, dense, complex aromas, and a harmonious and persistent finish.
