"Lorano" is an expression of elegance, power, balance, and an exaltation of the Sangiovese grape, which, thanks to the organic management of the vineyards by the winery, is free to express its full potential. This bottle confirms Maria Pia Castelli as one of the most interesting producers in the Marche region, thanks to an approach that combines tradition and innovation.
Once harvested, the grapes ferment with indigenous yeasts, 50% of the mass in steel and the remaining part in wood, also undergoing malolactic fermentation. Then follows the aging phase, where the wine rests first for 12 months in barrique, and then, after bottling, for another 18 months in glass.
The "Lorano" wine appears in the glass with a typically ruby color. The array of aromas that follow on the nose moves along a progression of notes that, from fruity, heads towards aromatic herbs and sweet spices, deriving from wood aging. On the palate, it is well-structured, ample, and round, with a sip characterized by an evident tannic grip and a pleasant fresh vein. A bottle with which the Maria Pia Castelli winery interprets one of the most important red grape varieties in the entire Italian ampelographic landscape, Sangiovese.
A red with character and personality, which in the kitchen pairs well with pasta dishes topped with meat sauces and mixed grills.
