Frescobaldi's Toscana Rosso Mormoreto comes from the eponymous vineyard located on the Castello di Nipozzano estate.

It is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot grapes, hand-picked between late September and early October. The grapes ferment in stainless steel vats at a temperature below 35°C for about 15 days, and each variety is vinified and macerated separately for 35 days in stainless steel, with skin contact for 20 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in oak barriques, partly new and partly second-passage, for 24 months, then refines in the bottle for at least 6 months.

It is a ruby red wine with purplish reflections on the rim. The nose opens with fruity hints of blueberry and black cherry, followed by notes of iodine, cinchona, and pleasant balsamic hints of eucalyptus and mint; the finish reveals a slight spiciness of cardamom. On the palate, it is silky and velvety, with remarkable tannins and an excellent structure. The finish is very long and persistent, with hints of iodine and balsamic nuances.

Perfect for accompanying long-cooked red and white meat dishes such as braised meats, stews, and pot roasts, it is ideal with aged cheeses.
