Rosso "di Gino", produced by Fattoria San Lorenzo, is a splendid interpretation of the classic Marche wine made with the two typical red grape varieties of the area: Montepulciano, which provides structure and fruity richness, and Sangiovese, which offers freshness and elegance. The choice of vinification and ageing without the use of wood allows for the preservation and highlighting of the varietal characteristics of excellent quality grapes, coming from particularly suitable plots of the estate. A confirmation of the quality of one of the most highly rated wineries in the Marche region.
At the end of the harvest, the best grapes are spontaneously fermented with only indigenous yeasts, in stainless steel tanks at an initial temperature of 35 °C, which is then lowered to 25 °C, with classic maceration on the skins for a couple of weeks. Before bottling, the wine ages for 12 months on its fine lees in concrete tanks.
Rosso "di Gino" perfectly expresses the style of Fattoria San Lorenzo, always known for producing honest and direct wines, made without oenological interventions, with the sole aim of enhancing the quality of the grapes and the character of a great terroir.
Tasting notes:
With a beautiful dark ruby red color and bright reflections, it expresses a remarkable aromatic richness on the nose, with notes of ripe fruit, cherry, wild blackberry, currant, hints of undergrowth, humus, blond tobacco, and medicinal herbs. Smooth and pleasantly fragrant, it captivates with a harmonious, rich, balanced sip and well-integrated tannins within a full-bodied structure. The finish is pleasantly fresh and persistent.
