The Primitivo del Salento Torcicoda by Marchesi Antinori is born in the vineyards located in the Tenuta Maìme of S.Pietro Vernotico, in the province of Brindisi. It is produced exclusively with Primitivo grapes, harvested during the first week of September. After crushing, the grapes undergo maceration with soft pump-overs and delestage. Subsequently, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26°C. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak barriques, where it ages for about 10 months, followed by another 8 months of bottle aging.

Tasting notes: 

Torcicoda is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with fruity notes of cherries, strawberries, and licorice, enriched by pleasant spicy notes. On the palate, it is rich, full-bodied, with lively and pleasant tannins.

Pairings: 

Perfect to accompany pasta dishes with meat sauce, it is ideal with red meats, stews, and roasts.
