Mauricia's range of rums is made from 100% pure fresh sugarcane juice and takes its name from the owners' sugarcane Domaine. From the 19th century to today, Domaine Mauricia is still managed in the same way, and now boasts 6,000 hectares of sugarcane.

The fresh sugarcane juice ferments for 30 hours with a selected yeast culture. The must is distilled to 94% alc. vol., in a continuous still from South Africa.
Mauricia is therefore, to use a popular term, a Single Estate rum, effectively belonging to the agricole rum category.

Mauricia Rum Heritage is produced, like the rest of the range, from pure fresh sugarcane juice. Fermented for 30 hours with selected yeasts and distilled in a column still. The rum is then aged for 30 months in first-fill American white oak, with three distinct degrees of toasting.

Mauricia Rum Heritage is a rum of a brilliant amber colour that presents as round and warm on the nose. Notes of honey, dried exotic fruit, and vanilla marry in perfect balance with notes of bitter chocolate and orange zest. On the palate, the slightly woody notes reminiscent of liquorice are well balanced by fresh and slightly mineral hints. The finish is rather long, round, and spicy.
