Solaia: a resounding and prestigious name, synonymous with elegance and quality, an excellence of Made in Italy. A great red from Tuscany, the pride of the Antinori marquises, who have been producing it since 1978 and only in the best vintages. Its history now belongs to legend: after creating Tignanello from the eponymous estate, Marquis Piero Antinori decided to vinify Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes separately, then blending them to create a wine of great structure and complexity. Only from 1982 onwards was 20% Sangiovese also introduced into the blend, as in its current composition. It is a prestigious Supertuscan, born from the combination of the best grapes, the best vintage, the suited terroir, and the passion, research, and tradition of the winery. In short, a great red must have a meticulously studied recipe, and Antinori knows how to balance the ingredients.

Solaia Antinori comes from a single 20-hectare vineyard within the Tignanello Estate, in the heart of Chianti Classico, at an altitude of about 400 meters on soil rich in limestone and alberese rock. A vineyard defined by the Antinori family as "the sunniest strip of the Tignanello hill." The grapes are harvested manually and immediately brought to the cellar, where separate vinifications are carried out for each type of grape. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in 60 hl truncated cone tanks and malolactic fermentation in barriques. The wine thus produced matures in barriques for 16 to 18 months, depending on the vintage, and for at least one year in the bottle.

Solaia by the Antinori Marquises maintains, in every vintage produced, an austere and very elegant style, destined to evolve positively in the bottle for decades. The olfactory profile is broad, articulate, and complex, rich in all varieties of wild berries, red flowers, leather, coffee, tobacco, chocolate, sweet spices, balsamic herbs, Mediterranean scrub, and more. The sip reveals great body and roundness, well-calibrated power, and dense, robust tannins. A record-breaking wine of absolute excellence, a paradigm of Italian winemaking excellence.
