The Toscana Rosso 'Giramonte' by Frescobaldi is the rarest and most exclusive cru. It comes from the vineyards of Tenuta Castiglioni, owned by the family since the 11th century. Southwest of Florence, in the Val di Pesa, the area is ideal for cultivating elegant Sangiovese, as well as robust and lively Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. 'Giramonte' is a Supertuscan blend of Merlot and Sangiovese, aged for about 16 months in barriques, resulting in a wine of great intensity, rich, silky, and with a very long finish.
Tasting Notes:
Intense ruby red color, the nose presents a surprising bouquet for its intensity and complexity. Aromas of black cherry, myrtle and wild blackberry and notes of toasted hazelnut, cocoa and coffee. On the palate, it is full, velvety, with a delicate tannic texture and an elegant structure.
Pairings:
Perfect with first and second courses based on red meat, grilled dishes, cheeses.
