Don Papa Rum takes its name from Papa Isio, a great revolutionary hero in the Philippine war of liberation from Spanish rule. His legendary energy and indomitable spirit live on in every bottle that bears his name today.
Don Papa Rum is produced, aged and bottled on the island of Negros, the most important sugarcane producing area in the Philippines. This beautiful island, characterized by rugged mountain ranges, large white beaches and impenetrable lush jungles, thanks to its volcanic soil, produces some of the fullest and sweetest sugarcane in the world.
Don Papa Baroko is aged in oak barrels for several years. With a beautiful deep amber color, it presents great olfactory delicacy, with fruity hints reminiscent of candied fruit and ripe apricot, refined by notes of vanilla and honey. On the palate it is round and complex without however losing momentum and maintaining the recognizable aromatic components such as hay, ripe apricot, bitter orange peel and cocoa. To be enjoyed neat to appreciate all its organoleptic complexity or as a Darker Don.
